Renovations: We're getting there!

Posted: Friday, July 11, 2008, 5:15 pm

At Old Worthington Library, new furniture is starting to arrive, and the fabulous new tables, chairs, and display units will be ready next week. Starting after the library closes on Tuesday, we will begin moving all the materials out of the meeting room into their new home in the Popular Library.

Large print, new books, the audio visual collection, and teen materials will be part of this move.

On Wednesday, staff will provide service to patrons at the top of the stairs and will pull the materials that will be temporarily unavailable in the Popular Library.

This area will be open to the public on Thursday morning. Some of the features of the new area will be 15-minute Express PCs, laptop tables, and lots of places to browse, sit and relax.

The staff of Northwest Library has a busy week ahead as well. On Wednesday, they will open the new technology area.

On Friday, the teen area will open!

As of Saturday, July 19, patrons will be redirected through the meeting room to enter the library. The circulation staff will also work out of this space.

Thanks, again, for all of your patience and understanding. The community has been wonderful (as well as adaptable) throughout this process.
