What could be more relaxing at the end of a long winter week than to sit comfortably by a fire listening to some great music? Every Friday afternoon this month you'll be able to do just that as February by the Fire returns to Old Worthington Library.
Over the years, the February by the Fire music series has become one of Worthington Libraries' most popular and best-attended. Individual performances sometimes draw over 100 people, of all ages and backgrounds, to the fireplace area to soak up the sounds of some of central Ohio's most talented musicians.
Come experience February by the Fire for yourself. This year's selection of music and musicians won't disappoint.
- The music series kicks off Friday, Feb. 6 with the Lyric Harp Duo. Jude Mollenhauer and Ni Yan first collaborated when they were invited to China to participate in an international music festival. The pair have been delighting audiences throughout central Ohio ever since.
- Goin' West, a Delaware, Ohio trio, will be featured on Friday, Feb. 13. Those attending will be treated to folk and rock favorites, as well as a few originals.
- Acoustic jazz, funk and blues will all be a part of the Friday, Feb. 20 performance by The Great Mad Hoax, a string ensemble.
- The final performance of the 2009 season, on Friday, Feb. 27, will showcase Melissa Robol, a classically trained pianist who will share winter music from Gustav Holst, John Field, the Wyandot Indians and more!
Sponsored by the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries, February by the Fire concerts, which start at 4 pm, are geared to all ages. Bring your friends and family to enjoy this wonderful range of music right in the "living room" of your local library!
