Birds of North America Online is an outstanding resource for amateur ornithologists and bird lovers, offering detailed scientific information for over 700 species of birds nesting in the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the islands of the Caribbean. The database includes articles about each bird including information about its behavior, migration, demographics and habitat. Articles are accompanied by professional photographs showing plumage, habitat, nests, eggs and chicks.

Birds of North America Online also contains fantastic audio and video clips. You can listen to audio recordings of bird songs and calls, such as the yodel of the Pacific Loon or the familiar song of the American Robin. You can also watch videos that highlight bird behaviors, such as an up-close view of an American Goldfinch eating a sunflower seed, a Red-shouldered Hawk in flight or feeding time for a flock of American White Pelicans.

You can search Birds of North America Online by a bird's common name, scientific name as well as keywords. Maintained and updated by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the content is updated frequently with contributions from researchers, citizen scientists and designated reviewers and editors.
