If you think eco-friendly can't also be easy, think again!
Worthington Libraries has planned a series of practical sessions chock-full of ways you can reduce your impact on the planet, right in your own home and neighborhood. Your reward? A healthier community, family and wallet!
On June 17 at 7 pm, Northwest Library will host Stacy Law of Keep Columbus Beautiful. Her program, "Living Cleanly," will focus on waste awareness, specifically how much waste we generate, five ways to manage it recycling, composting, etc. and how to reduce the amount we generate and dispose of.
Going green must be a community-wide effort. "Go Green in Your Community," planned June 23 at 7 pm at Old Worthington Library, will feature architect Chris Hermann. He'll talk about new ideas in land use around the world today and offer ways we could put them into practice in our area.
If you want to reduce how much you drive but don't know how to begin, start with "Go Green While Getting Around," which will be held on June 30 at 7 pm at Old Worthington Library. Members of the group Walk, Bus, Bike will suggest tricks and techniques for getting around central Ohio while leaving your car behind.
Putting your home on an energy diet will save you lots of money in the long run, and it doesn't have to be expensive to start with. During "Go Green Without Going Broke," Fred Yaeger of Sustainable Worthington will share simple and cheap solutions that will reduce your home energy costs and your carbon footprint. The program is scheduled at Northwest Library on July 16 at 7 pm.
