Spark your child's curiosity and see how much fun learning can be!

Scholastic BookFlix encourages youngsters to read, explore and learn with engaging fiction video storybooks paired with related non-fiction books.

Geared for grades PreK-3, Scholastic BookFlix uses streaming video of classic children's stories, puzzles and educational links to reinforce early reading skills and introduce children to a world of knowledge.

Watch Danny and the Dinosaurs and then learn more about real dinosaurs in Dinosaur Track. Watch Giggle Giggle Quack and then learn more about farm life with Living on Farms.

The paired fiction/nonfiction books are organized into themes such as Animals and Nature, People and Places, Family and Community and Music and Rhyme. Some books are available in Spanish.

Animated storybooks can be viewed with or without a read-along option that displays the story text. Word-by-word highlighting encourages children to follow along as the story is read aloud.

Related non-fiction books build background knowledge and introduce content-area learning. Moving the mouse over highlighted vocabulary words shows definitions and encourages beginning and reluctant readers.

Each book pair comes with interactive educational puzzles and games to reinforce reading skills, vocabulary development, storyline sequencing and the difference between fact and fiction. Links to safe, age-appropriate Web sites encourage further exploration on topics of interest.

Scholastic BookFlix also includes resources and ideas for parents and teachers on how to use Scholastic BookFlix at home or in a classroom setting. Suggestions for teaching activities and lesson plans are available for each book pair. All lesson plans are aligned to national language-arts and content-area standards.
