Next month, the Library will partner with the Worthington Historical Society for an evening of local history and mystery during Worthington Ghost Tours.
Under the light of a full moon, celebrate the spooky season with mischievous fun on Friday, October 2. Join us for the early tour at 7:30 pm or the late tour at 9:00 pm. Tours are appropriate for ages 13 and up.
Learn more about the active spirit that allegedly haunts one of Ohio's oldest commercial buildings a building that served as a funeral home for over 60 years.
Several unexplained events have occurred in the oldest part of the Worthington Inn, and are believed to be the work of former owner George Van Loon and his apparitional accomplices. You'll hear the creepy details during the tour.
You'll also get the scoop on the city's grave robbing rumors (which actually forced the closure of an area medical college), the potentially misplaced body of founding father James Kilbourn and the reason behind Mary Chase's eerie presence in the sanctuary of St. John's Church.
Tour tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the following locations:
Old Rectory
50 E. New England Ave.Zettler Hardware
661 High St.Fritzy Jacobs
635 N. High St.
Tours will leave from the Old Rectory on October 2.
All proceeds will benefit Worthington Libraries and the Worthington Historical Society.
