Give yourself a late afternoon treat next month: join us on Fridays in Old Worthington Library's Fireplace Area and soak up the sounds of some of central Ohio's most talented musicians.

Come experience February by the Fire for yourself. Coordinated in partnership with the Jazz Arts Group, this year's selection of music and musicians won't disappoint.

  • February 5: Mark Flugge, solo pianist
A jazz faculty member at several area universities as well as the Jazz Arts Group's Jazz Academy, Mark Flugge is well-known as a pianist, composer, educator and bandleader in central Ohio and beyond.
  • February 12: Bill Foley, guitar/vocals
Full-time musician Bill Foley has opened for groups like Three Dog Night, Jefferson Starship and Hall & Oates. Bill performs the best music of the 1950s-70s, including early rock and roll favorites, one-hit wonders and folk music.
  • February 19: Dave Powers, piano/vocals
For over 26 years, Dave Powers has been a vital part of the Columbus music scene as a pianist, keyboardist and vocalist. He was recently featured on the PBS television series, "The Piano Guy."
  • February 26: Chaz Mechenbier, guitar/vocals
An accomplished guitarist and singer, Chaz Mechenbier has played guitar on stages from New Jersey to Japan. His own brand of rock and jazz-influenced music includes covers of Eric Clapton, the Beatles and more.

February by the Fire concerts, which start at 4 pm, are sponsored by the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries.
