Meet Skippyjon Jones and the Lorax, get free books, make crafts and listen to stories at Worthington Libraries' Read to Your Baby Festival!
Celebrate reading and the important role it can play in the lives of young children and families at this year's event, featuring storyteller Lyn Ford, on Sunday, Nov. 14 from 1-5pm at Old Worthington Library.
During Lyn's presentation, scheduled at 2pm, she'll share her "Home-Fried Tales," stories rooted in her family's multicultural African American background and oral traditions.
The festival will also include crafts, visits from the Lorax, Skippyjon Jones and the Very Hungry Caterpillar (bring your cameras, parents!), information tables staffed by children- and family-oriented community organizations and storytimes for young children.
Those attending will also receive Raise-a-Reader packets, which include books, information about the library's early literacy resources, a sippy cup and more.
Studies have shown that reading to young babies has a positive impact on their development and strengthens the bond between parents and children.
