The Library invites you to share your ideas as we embark on a search for a new director.
The Worthington Libraries Board of Trustees recently established a search committee to assist them with the process of finding and hiring a library director to replace Meribah Mansfield, who will retire in July after nearly 19 years of service to the Library.
The committee hired the firm of Gossage Sager Associates to assist with the application and recruitment process. Gossage Sager Associates specializes in executive recruitment for libraries.
As part of their information-gathering process, Gossage Sager would like community feedback about the skills and abilities the new director is going to need to be successful and also what types of challenges and opportunities await him or her.
You can help by e-mailing your answers to the following questions to Jobeth Bradbury at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- What attributes, skills and abilities do you think the next director will need to be successful in this position?
- What do you feel are the major challenges or issues the next director will have to face?
- What are some of the opportunities (or selling points) that we should convey to prospective candidates about coming to Worthington and the Library?
- And finally, do you have any nominations or suggestions of people you think we should talk to about becoming a candidate for the position?
