Worthington Libraries announces finalists for director position

On Friday, May 21, the Worthington Libraries Director Search Committee selected three people as finalists for the position of library director.

  1. Christopher Bates
    senior library manager at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library (North Carolina)
  2. Crystal Faris
    director of teen services, Kansas City Public Library (Missouri)
  3. Chuck Gibson
    director of the South Georgia Regional Library System (Georgia)

The finalists will return to Worthington on Thursday, June 3 to tour the libraries and community and to meet the library staff.

On the evening of June 3, the finalists will individually meet with representatives from the City of Worthington, Worthington Schools, former library trustees, members of the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries and the library staff to have a conversation about the library and community.

On June 4, the finalists will be interviewed by the Worthington Libraries Board of Trustees. The board hopes to announce a new library director following their June 15 board meeting.

Meribah Mansfield, outgoing library director, will retire on July 23 after nearly 19 years of service to Worthington Libraries.
