If one-on-one assistance is what your child needs for a tough homework assignment, then the Homework Help Center is where your child needs to be.
Opened in 2008, the Homework Help Center at Worthington Park Library is now in its third year of operation. Last school year, the Homework Help Center had more than 1,100 visits from students ranging from kindergarten through college level. Volunteers contributed more than 245 hours of time to assist these students.
This school year, Volunteens from area high schools will contribute their time to assist students with homework.
Together with library staff, volunteers ensure the Homework Help Center is a positive environment where students receive assistance with their homework assignments. Students can learn to use print resources available at Worthington Park Library and the wide array of research databases and other online resources for students available on the library website.
Five computers, all equipped with Internet access and Microsoft Office 2007, are reserved for student use during center hours. Printing is available free of charge for homework assignments.
Homework Help services are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All students grades K-12 are welcome to attend.
The Homework Help Center is open Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm - 6:30pm.
