Teens can tune in to music theme

Stephenie Meyer and other authors have often credited music as their muse, explaining that they simply can't write without it.

The Twilight author has even posted a playlist for the book on her website.

To celebrate Teen Read Week and this year's theme, Books with Beat, Worthington Libraries is encouraging teens to do the same, that is, create a playlist for their favorite book. Not only will qualifying soundtracks submitted by October 9 be featured on the Worthingteens blog, they'll also be played during Teen Read Week (October 17-23) in each library's teen area!

Submission forms are available now at all three library locations. Playlists can also be sent to teenblog@worthingtonlibraries.org.

For those who don't want to throw just any group of songs together, a Worthington Park Library program planned Saturday, October 2 at 2pm will inspire teens as they prepare their perfect playlists.

Thousands of libraries, schools and bookstores across the country will take part in this year's Teen Read Week celebration and have planned unique programs centered on the Books with Beat theme, which encourages teens to read poetry and books about music, listen to audio books and more.
