Geronimo Stilton and Little Nutbrown Hare, crafts, free books and more await you and your family during the library's sixth Family Reading Festival, sponsored by Target.

Sponsored by TargetCelebrate reading and the important role it can play in the lives of young children and families at this year's Family Reading Festival, featuring children's book author and illustrator Will Hillenbrand, on Sunday, November 13 from 1-4 pm at Old Worthington Library.

During Will's presentation, scheduled at 3 pm, he'll focus on the process of creating a book, from journal entries to final artwork. A book signing will follow (autographed books make great holiday gifts!), with proceeds benefiting the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries.

The festival will also include crafts, visits from Little Nutbrown Hare, Geronimo Stilton and Lars the Polar Bear (bring your cameras, parents!), information tables staffed by children- and family-oriented community organizations and storytimes for young children.

Those attending will also receive Raise-a-Reader packets, which include books, information about the library's early literacy resources, fun prizes and more.

Studies have shown that reading to children from birth through age five and beyond has a tremendous impact on their early development and ability to learn.
