A magical night is planned on July 8 to celebrate the upcoming release of the final Harry Potter movie.
At 5:30 pm, there will be games like Pin the Tail on Dudders and Harry Potter Jeopardy, and young witches and wizards can create their own transfiguration headbands during the program, Harry Potter & the Final Film.
Library staff will be dressed up as famous, and infamous, characters from the series, and those attending are encouraged to get into the "spirit" as well and dress up for a costume contest.
At 7 pm, Boston alt-rock duo Harry & the Potters will perform as part of the library's summer concert series.
Hailed as the founders of the "wizard rock" genre — a music movement of bands playing Potter-inspired songs — the group consists of brothers Paul and Joe DeGeorge, who have played over 500 shows in libraries, clubs, art spaces and bookstores since 2002.
The band has released three full-length albums that include DeGeorge-penned songs like "Gryffindor Rocks," "The Missing Arm of Viktor Krum" and "Slug Club."
Both events, scheduled at Northwest Library, are sponsored by the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries.
