A journey is planned during the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries' annual meeting.

Angela Easterling

South Carolina native Angela Easterling will guide those attending through the musical presentation, A Songwriter's Journey through American Music.

The event, which is open to the public, will start at 7pm on Wednesday, November 14 at Old Worthington Library, 820 High St.

Easterling, a top 10 finalist for Telluride Troubadour and Wildflower Performing Songwriter honors, will perform her own songs as well as covers. She'll also discuss the craft of songwriting and share the inspiration behind her music, which has been described as everything from country-roots and alt-country to folk rock and Americana.

Her most recent release, Mon Secret, is an album of original love songs written and recorded in French, but it was a song on her 2011 album, Beguiler, that earned Easterling an invitation to the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival earlier this year. "Maria, My Friend" was selected from more than 600 entries in the Telluride Troubadour songwriting competition.

Take a listen to Easterling's songs, including "Maria, My Friend."
