What do over 7,000 central Ohio children, Worthington Libraries and teens have in common?
The 2012 Summer Reading League, of course! Teens looking for a fun and rewarding way to spend the summer should look no further than the Library, which currently needs enthusiastic and responsible teens to volunteer.
Volunteens will assist the children's departments at all three library locations with this year's Summer Reading League by helping participants register for the program and handing out prizes. Volunteens also help with other library programs and projects as needed.
The assistance the Library receives from Volunteens in the summer is tremendous. Without their help, it would be impossible to conduct the Summer Reading League and perform the daily tasks necessary to keep three busy children's departments running smoothly.
Volunteering at the Library is a great way to make a difference in the community, have tons of fun and make new friends. It also helps improve communication skills, demonstrates responsibility and maturity and looks great on resumes and college applications.
All teens are welcome to volunteer at the Library this summer. To be eligible, they must be at least 12 years old or entering the seventh grade in the fall of 2012 and attend one orientation session.
