Find new friends in 60 seconds or less during a fun networking event for 20 to 30 year-olds!
Speed friending is similar in concept to speed dating, where participants meet a number of people in a fast, structured way in order to find potential connections. In the age of social networking where it's easy to gather hundreds of "friends," speed friending is a throwback of sorts, where participants can meet others face-to-face and make real friends based on mutual interests.
Those attending will each receive a form on which to make notes. At the end of the evening, after individual chats with each participant, the forms will be collected and, if two participants indicate that they'd like to meet a second time, each will be given the other's e-mail address.
The library's Speed Friending program, presented in partnership with Young Professionals of Worthington and Columbus Young Professionals, is planned on Thursday, September 5 from 7-8pm. It will be held at P.K. O'Ryan's Irish Pub, 666 High Street, in downtown Worthington.
Young Professionals of Worthington, a program of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, provides networking, educational and social opportunities for 21-39 year-olds living or working in the area.
