OMG, this is the most delightful book I've read in a long time.

From the mind that brought you The Parasol Protectorate series (if you like steampunk or magical realism, it's one to look for-- the first in the series is Soulless), comes a brilliant, fun, utterly marvelous foray into the world of finishing schools for girl spies.

Oh, you've never seen or read about a finishing school for girl spies before? Well, then this will be an excellent starting point as I guarantee you'll be asking for more (just like Oliver Twist).

Here's a list of things I loved about this: Soap (a person's nickname, not the object you wash up with), Bumbersnoot (an adorable mechanical dog), mechanicals who can figure out if you're a boy or a girl (but can be fooled by the gyrating dancing of pants-ed individuals), comedic timing and awesome vampire professors. ALL THINGS THAT CAN BE YOURS WHEN READING THIS BOOK.

Seriously, this book is so delightful that I am chomping at the bit for the next one. Steampunk is usually a genre that is just too daunting for me. However, after the initial setup confusion, I was on board and fully engaged in this fun adventure.

This book will, for sure, live on from my handselling due to the shouting-from-the-rooftops crush I have on it. Thank God the next one is coming out later this year-- I hope it comes right when I need some fun because this one was undiluted fun! I am so pleasantly surprised and pleased with this book that I can't stop smiling when I think about it!
