I heart baseball and had fun reading about the back-office side of the sport.
For me, there is nothing better than going to a game on a beautiful summer evening. I heard a lot of buzz about the book Moneyball, and although I'm not a big math or statistics person, I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm so glad I did!
The book focuses on Oakland Athletics General Manager Billie Beane and how he was able put together a winning team with one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. I'm not going to lie, some of the statistical descriptions were a little lost on me, but Michael Lewis was able to weave a very compelling story about an underdog team and underdog players that kept me interested.
When I finished the book, I went to see the movie, starring Brad Pitt. I recommend that, too!
