Pirates and magic and gargoyles-- oh my! This is a fantastical pirate tale that will make landlubbers wish for life on the high seas.
Hilary Westfield has always dreamed of being a pirate, but when the Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates turns down her application after discovering she is a girl, Hilary finds herself shipped off to finishing school rather than sailing the seas. A good pirate won't let a little thing like finishing school keep her down though, and Hilary (along with her gargoyle) run off to make their swashbuckling dreams come true.
This is an absolutely delightful story. The good guys are charming, funny and roguish (depending on the character) and the villains are just over-the-top enough to be fun. I can't wait for the next book in this magical adventure series!
