I picked this up, giggled at the title and had a hard time putting it down to do anything else over the course of the few days it took me to finish.
Jessie, a 30-something New Yorker who writes for high profile fashion magazines, dates all the wrong guys and frequently finds herself still out in bars and clubs when she should be waking up in the morning, is unhappy.
A life change is needed, so she decides to take a freelance job covering a rodeo in her home state of Montana, promising herself that she will get her act together when she returns to NYC. In Montana, she meets a handsome cowboy and has a one night stand that turns into true love, marriage and life in rural Virginia?!
This hilarious and well-written account is her tale of what it's like to risk everything you are familiar with-- think lattes and yoga pants-- to raise chickens, can everything in sight and build fences with the cowboy of your dreams.
I worked for Worthington Libraries from 2007-2013, and consider myself a jack of all library trades. When not reading or talking about books of all types, I enjoy baking, crafting, the local Columbus music scene, and my dog, a whippet who can run faster than you (and your little dog, too!).
