In brief
This book explores the hardships in the Japanese-American internment camps during WWII and the enduring spirit of the people who were held there.
During World War II, Japanese Americans were sent to internment camps. A Diamond in the Desert is the story of a young baseball player who ends up in one such camp, situated on an Indian reservation in Arizona.
There weren't many happy moments happening in this book. On the plus side, it has plenty of baseball for baseball lovers.
