Do you want to know what grandma's silver teapot is worth? How about that painting you picked up at last summer's garage sale?
Wes Cowan, star of History Detectives, will visit Worthington Libraries with a team of experts from Cowan's Auctions to provide free appraisals of your antiques and collectibles.
Art conservators will also be available from Old World Restorations, Inc. to inspect damaged and/or deteriorated art and antiques, and to provide restoration advice.
Here's what you need to know before attending:
- Appraisals will be focused on the following areas/items: historical Americana, early photography, decorative arts, paintings, sculpture and works on paper.
- No stamps, coins, fine jewelry or weapons of any kind will be appraised.
- Items presented for appraisal are limited to two per person.
- Items must be easily carried by hand.
If you are interested in attending, you must pick up a ticket for each item you would like appraised prior to the event. Tickets will be distributed for specific timeslots (10am, 2pm, etc) and will be available at Old Worthington Library beginning April 1.
