From a cupcake caterpillar to Rumballs of the Bailey, the library's Edible Books contests have brought out the clever and creative, with some really tasty results!
To enter the third annual competition, your entirely edible creation must have a book or literary theme.
New this year is a Professional category where area bakeries like Delicacies by Sheri, Delightful Cakes, Ly-Ly's Bakery and M. Minick Cake Design will compete for bragging rights. All others may enter the Amateur category.
Registration and set up starts at 6 pm and judging and viewing will take place from 7-8:30 pm, at which time awards will be presented and the entries eaten.
Celebrity judges include Columbus Dispatch Food Editor Robin Davis and local food bloggers Jim Ellison and Nick Dekker.
The Edible Book Festival was initiated by a group of book artists in 1999, and has since become an international event.
Held annually on April 1 in places like Australia, England, India, Japan, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, festivals celebrate April Fool's Day and the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin.
