Susan B. Anthony's birthday

Susan B. Anthony was born on February 15 in 1820.

You may know her from the dollar coin with her likeness, minted in 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1999. She earned her spot on the coin through her work as social activist, especially for her fight to earn voting rights for women.

Get to know Anthony in her own words in Failure is Impossible, and learn more about her work with Elizabeth Cady Stanton in the women's suffrage movement in Not for Ourselves Alone. Young readers may enjoy Susan B. Anthony: Fighter for Women's Rights.
