From a cupcake caterpillar to Rumballs of the Bailey, the library's Edible Books contests have brought out the clever and creative, with some really tasty results!
To enter the fourth annual competition, your entirely edible creation must have a book or literary theme.
In addition to celebrity judges and awards for professionals and amateurs, there's a new category this year: Child/Family, for participants under the age of 18!
Registration and set up starts at 6 pm and judging and viewing will take place from 7-8:30 pm, at which time awards will be presented and the entries eaten.
Celebrity judges include Columbus Dispatch Food Editor Robin Davis and local food blogger Nick Dekker. Don't miss the creative concoctions entered by professional bakers, Our CupCakery and Sassafras Bakery.
The Edible Book Festival was initiated by a group of book artists in 1999, and has since become an international event.
Held annually on April 1 in places like Australia, England, India, Japan, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, festivals celebrate April Fool's Day and the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin.
