"King: A Filmed Record" screening (part 1)

Originally screened for one night only in theaters nationwide, this 1970 documentary follows the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. from the beginnings of the Civil Rights movement in Montgomery, Alabama, to his 1968 assassination in Memphis. Interspersed with news reels of actual events are readings by celebrities like Paul Newman and James Earl Jones.

The film does contain violent and disturbing scenes and language.
