Help your child be ready to read by practicing early literacy skills. You can help by:
- Asking a librarian to help you find a fun ABC book to share with your child
- Let your child play with magnet letters or show him or her how to make letters with playdough or how to write letters in the air.
Activities for Babies: Play with different shapes and pointing out what shapes are the same and what shapes are different.
Activities for Toddlers or Preschoolers: Talk about the first letter in your child's name. Then try to find other things that start with that letter throughout your house.
