You'll be happy and you'll know it when you sing this fun song, all while helping to improve your child's early literacy skills.
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it.
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.Extra verses:
If you're happy and you know it, stomp your feet.
If you're happy and you know it, jump up high.
Help your child be ready to read by practicing early literacy skills. Introducing your child to rhymes and picture books is a great way to help your child expand his/her vocabulary because books and rhymes often contain a larger variety of words then what we typically use in conversation on a daily basis.
Babies/Toddlers/Preschoolers: This song can be used to introduce new words to children because it can be adapted in many different ways. For example, you can help kids learn the names of different body parts by including verses like "If you're happy and you know it, shake your elbows." You can help kids learn about emotions by changing the song to: "If you're sad and you know it, make a frown" or "If you're angry and you know it, stomp your feet." You can also have fun with the song by having your kids act like different animals. For instance, "If you're a mouse and you know it, wiggle your nose" or "give a little squeak."
