No matter where you're from, everyone speaks the language of chocolate! Whether you learn this rhyme in English or Español (Spanish), you'll be helping your child with early literacy skills.

Español

Uno, dos, tres, cho
Uno, dos, tres, co
Uno, dos, tres, la
Uno, dos, tres, te
Bate, bate, chocolate!

English

One, two, three, cho
(count with fingers)
One, two, three, co
One, two, three, late!
Stir, stir the chocolate!
(pretend to stir with hands)

Help your child be ready to read by practicing early literacy skills. This is a wonderful rhyme to work on the ability to hear and play with the smaller sounds in words because it divides the word chocolate into parts. This will help later when kids are beginning to learn to read.

Toddlers/Preschoolers: Playing rhyming games with your child and sharing nursery rhymes with your child are two more ways to help kids practice early literacy skills.
