Time stands still for no mouse! Watch the critter's brief journey up the grandfather clock recreated on the flannel board.

In our storytimes, we often use the flannel board to tell nursery rhymes, counting rhymes, and stories. In addition, flannel boards help to teach essential early literacy skills as children learn to follow letters and numbers from left to right and retell favorite stories with felt pieces.

The following rhyme is performed by librarian Kelsey Coulter:

Hickory Dickory Dock
Hickory Dickory Dock.
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck one
And the mouse ran down!
Hickory Dickory Dock.

Periodically the library has flannel-making workshops for parents and caregivers. Check the library's calendar of events to see when the next one is being held.
