February is Heart Health Month! Use Library resources to find trustworthy health information for your heart and the rest of you, too.

Worthington Libraries provides 24/7 online access to reliable authoritative health information. Use these resources for health information and find out more about how to manage medical illnesses and prescribed medications. These databases are accessible anytime through the Worthington Libraries Web site with a valid library card.

  • Lexis-PALS Drug Guide
    Search hundreds of patient advisory leaflets for the most common questions regarding medications and natural products. Search by brand name and find results in English and Spanish.
    Search thousands of journals for authoritative medical information and current research in medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences and much more.
  • Credo Reference: Medicine
    Simultaneously search 24 health reference books, including medical dictionaries, handbooks and encyclopedias. Audio and video media files are included when available.
  • Alt HealthWatch
    Search for articles, reports and newsletters on complementary and alternative medicine, including acupuncture, aromatherapy, homeopathy, Chinese medicine and chiropractic.

    Access authoritative information on hundreds of diseases and conditions from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other government agencies and health-related organizations, as well as extensive information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient tutorials and the latest health news.
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
    Find detailed travelers' health information and recommendations, online health brochures and reports, statistical data, health-related announcements and more.
  • Mayo Clinic
    Access comprehensive guides to hundreds of diseases and conditions, as well as a symptom checker to evaluate possible causes of illness.
  • Ohio Department of Health
    Access public health and safety information including emergency preparedness, environmental health concerns and health care facility regulation. Find out about state-sponsored health services provided by the Department of Health's Division of Family and Community Health Services.
