It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as director of Worthington Libraries for almost 19 years.

Thanks to all of you who have made my job so joyful!

"I will always treasure my years of being part of the best library in the world!"

I can't imagine a better library job in the entire world than being director of Worthington Libraries. I feel so blessed to have been part of the proud history of this fine organization. We have accomplished so much together and had such a good time doing it!

I am motivated by making a difference, and have always been gratified by how much libraries help people and change lives on a daily basis. What a gift my almost 38 years of service in central Ohio public libraries have been to me.

People ask me which accomplishment I am proudest of. My response is always the same— the relationships that I have formed along the way.

I'd like to extend my thanks to our wonderful library patrons, who use the Library so heavily. The best thing you can do for the Library is to use it! Thanks to the Worthington community for its unwavering support of the Library. You pay the taxes that keep the library doors open, you ask legislators to save library funding, and you point to the Library with pride when you're asked what you like about living in Worthington.

Thanks to our terrific community partners: the Worthington Schools, the City of Worthington, the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and dozens of other community organizations. It has been a pleasure working with you to maintain and improve the quality of life in Worthington. Thanks to our outstanding library trustees, who generously donate their time to govern the Library. You oversee everything from policies to funding, and I have learned so much from you over the years. Thanks to the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries, which supports the Library in so many ways.

Thanks to the fabulous library staff. You are the most talented, dedicated, brightest, hardest working people I know. You are completely devoted to the library's mission, you go the extra mile routinely, you value change, growth and fun, and you are the main reason that Worthington Libraries is so successful.

Thanks to our legislators in the General Assembly with whom I've worked over the years. You've taken the time to understand library funding and have provided strong support for Ohio's public libraries.

And most of all, thanks to my family, who have shared me so freely with the community for so long. I love you all, and I am looking forward to spending more time with you.

I have absolutely loved being a public servant. Now I am trading one kind of service for another, as I am in school preparing to be ordained as a deacon in the Episcopal Church. I will always treasure my years of being part of the best library in the world! Thank you!
