Make sense of scents at program

Can pleasant smells like popcorn, baking bread and warm chocolate chip cookies really help sell your house? While that remains to be seen, studies have shown that certain scents can trigger reactions in the body that relieve stress (lavender), enhance concentration (citrus) and perk us up (peppermint).

Smells can also trigger memories because both are stored in the same region of the brain.

On Wednesday, August 10, learn more about the powerful sense of smell from The Candle Lab's Steve Weaver. During the program, Successful Scents, he'll also suggest ways you can spice up your space with scented candles.

Successful Scents will start at 7 pm at Old Worthington Library.

The Candle Lab offers hand-poured natural soy candles in more than 120 fragrances, or you can pour your own candles with custom scent mixes. Soy wax is non-toxic and burns cleaner than paraffin with no petrol-carbon to soot the walls, ceilings and furniture in your home.
