At a special meeting held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, the Worthington Libraries Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of Chuck Gibson, who has served as Director/CEO of Worthington Libraries since 2010.
During his tenure, Chuck helped guide the library through some very challenging times. We want to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Chuck for his service throughout his career at Worthington Libraries and wish him well as he pursues his next professional opportunity.
In light of Chuck's departure, we have named Monica Baughman to serve as Interim Director. Monica is currently the Director of Support Services, a position she recently assumed after serving as Deputy Director. With more than 20 years of experience working for Worthington Libraries, Monica's professional background and relationships will be invaluable in helping lead our organization during this time of transition.
The Board will soon begin the search process to recruit and identify a new director who will foster a culture of inclusion and trust while further advancing the library's mission and commitment to individual empowerment, social justice, and lifelong learning.
Finally, and most importantly, the Board wants to express our gratitude to the incredible Worthington Libraries staff for their dedication and tireless commitment to the library, its mission and the community we serve. Thanks to them, the Worthington community will continue to find the library to be a special and welcoming place for all to visit.
The Worthington Board of Trustees is represented by Gary Sandefur, Kim Anderson, Lauren Fromme, Elizabeth Grieser, Joan Herbers, Abby Poklar and Tom Walsh.
