In brief

This book has entertaining illustrations and fun word play.

Looking for a good rhyming picture book to share at bedtime? Check out Bats at the Ballgame! The sun has set and it's a perfect night for bats to play baseball.

Bats prepare the field by using powdered sugar to make the lines and a fork to rake the mound. They hang upside down in their seats and have their own version of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." At the concession stands, bats sell Garlic Flies and Gnatwurst along with the traditional fried dough and hotdogs.

The game is a thrilling one, coming down to the last inning and the exciting final pitch. What team will win? If you enjoy this story, try Bats at the Beach and Bats at the Library.
