A sizzling summer read so hot you could fry an egg on it.
Mia and Ethan wake up together after a night neither can remember. Each was out celebrating the beginning of a new internship when they met at a bar. One thing led to another, and now they've found themselves in the uncomfortable morning-after position of remembering the other's name, finding their clothes and trying not to be late for their first day on the job. The situation goes beyond awkward when they end up sharing a taxi to the same place!
As fate would have it, both are interns for Boomerang, an up-and-coming online dating site. The deal is that only one of them-- the one who contributes the most during the internship-- will be offered a job at the end. Interoffice dating is strictly forbidden, but the only problem with that rule is the fact that Mia and Ethan have some seriously hot chemistry. They cannot keep their eyes (or thoughts) off each other.
Things go from bad to worse when their boss tells them each to create an online dating profile and conduct some field research by going out on three dates. The whole ridiculous situation of competing for the same job, being forbidden to date (when that is all they can think about) and now having to watch the other go out on dates turns each of them into a hot, jealous mess. Romantic comedy ensues.
Told in alternating chapters between Mia and Ethan, this sassy little romance is the first of a planned trilogy written by Noelle August, which is actually the pseudonym for two authors: Lorin Oberweger and Veronica Rossi (Under the Never Sky).
Mia and Ethan's story is sweet and tender, but is also teeming with sizzle! While not Fifty Shades of Grey hot, if this book were a movie it would definitely be R-rated due to language and adult situations. The story is incredibly fun and flirty and I could not put it down. Both Mia and Ethan are absolutely loveable characters, and I was rooting for them to get to together through the whole book. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next installment, Rebound, which is set to come out in December. Boomerang is a delight to read. It was fun, smart and steamy-- all the ingredients you need for the perfect summer read!
I am the adult services materials selector for Worthington Libraries. When I'm not chasing after my two boys, I like to sew, read and collect recipes (but don't be fooled, I never make any of them!).
