Volunteers donate their time and skills to assist paid library staff when and where their assistance contributes to the library's program of service. Volunteers must adhere to the Volunteer Code of Conduct.
The Worthington Libraries recognizes two categories of volunteers: adult volunteers and Volunteens. Adult volunteers include anyone 18 and older. Adult-child teams, such as families or youth groups who wish to volunteer together, are included in this category. Volunteens include volunteers 12-17 years old, or older teens still in high school. The Volunteen program is included as part of teen services in the Library in an effort to increase library use by this age group.
See the Worthington Libraries Personnel Policy Manual for the selection and criminal background investigative process.
