Got a mysterious light appearing on your dashboard? The Library has a tool to help you solve the mystery.

An auto code reader is used to diagnose the cause behind "Check Engine" or "Service Engine" dashboard lights in most vehicles manufactured since 2000. Just plug the reader into the connector under your dash and it will display the given fault information provided by the vehicle engine, along with an explanation.

The kit includes an auto code reader device, connection cord and user's manual.

Auto code readers can be borrowed for 14 days; renewals are not available. Materials can be reserved by Worthington Libraries cardholders; they must be returned to the accounts desk, not in the book drops. The replacement cost for a reader is $35.
