Thank you for standing with Worthington Libraries and taking action to protect access to information in Ohio's libraries. We appreciate your phone calls and emails to Governor DeWine asking him to line-item veto a provision in House Bill 96 requiring libraries to relocate materials related to sexual orientation or gender identity.
We have good news to share.
Last night, Governor DeWine vetoed this harmful provision. This is a significant win for intellectual freedom and the right of every Ohioan to freely access information at their library.
Throughout this process, your voices made a difference. We worked together to show the governor the real-world impact of this policy: its costs, complexity and potential to limit access to information. We are grateful for his leadership and for your support.
We remain committed to keeping our libraries open, welcoming and responsive to the needs of our community.
Thank you again for standing with us.
