Magic Unbound: A Summer Reading Quest

The magic of reading will take you far!
Huzzah! You are hereby invited to start your summer reading quest!
Stay focused and ready for frivolity and faster than you can say abracadabra, your prize will materialize!
How it works
Program participants of all ages are eligible to receive prizes based on the amount of time they spend reading and/or completing DIY activities. Fill in one stone on your Reading Record for reading for the required time for your age group, or completing DIY activities.
- Little kids (5 & under): 15 minutes
- Big kids (6-11): 20 minutes
- Teens (12-18) and Adults: 30 minutes
Develop a sidewalk game for your neighborhood, create a fairy house from found-in-nature items and make a recipe from an e-cookbook you've checked out are a few examples. Download the full list of DIY Activities or...
Sign up for Magic Mail! Share an email address when you register and each week you'll receive a selection of fun activities and opportunities to connect with other summer readers-- all of which count toward completing your quest-- plus e-book and streaming video recommendations and a little something to make you smile. Magic Mail is tailored for both Families and Adults. Sign up for one or both!
Kids and teens completion
- Choose a book of your own to keep
Beginning June 16, kids and teens can pick up their final prizes for completing the summer reading club and be entered into the grand prize drawing. Please visit the Library while we’re open to turn in your reading record and pick up your book.
Book pickup will be outside, weather permitting, or inside each library. Please note, social distancing rules will apply and masks are strongly recommended for anyone visiting the Library.
- A reusable Worthington Farmers Market canvas tote OR
- A $10 Worthington Resource Pantry donation in your name
To claim their prize, adults must complete the Adult Completion Form.
Kids and teens who complete their summer reading quest will be entered into grand prize drawings. Kids could get bikes, teens are eligible for Target gift cards! Prize winner names will be drawn later this summer. Winners have two weeks to claim their prize.
