We offer a competitive benefits portfolio.

All employees whose weekly designated position hours are 20 (twenty) or more are eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance. The Library pays a portion of the monthly premiums.

All employees are eligible for our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). An EAP covers all or part of the cost for employees and immediate family members to receive counseling, referrals and advice in dealing with stressful issues in their lives.

The Library also offers life insurance to all employees whose weekly designated position hours are 20 (twenty) or more. Premiums for life insurance are paid solely by the participating employee through the convenience of payroll deductions. The Library does not pay any of the premium for life insurance.

Full-time employees are eligible for short-term and long-term disability insurance. Premiums for disability insurance are paid solely by the participating employee through the convenience of payroll deductions. The Library does not pay any of the premium for disability insurance.

The Library offers paid time-off benefits including vacation, sick, parental, bereavement and assault leave, and 13 holidays.

After 12 months of service, tuition reimbursement is offered to employees pursuing an ALA-accredited master’s degree in Library Information Science (MLIS) or qualifying graduate-level education. A maximum of $2,000 may be awarded per calendar year; coursework must be completed within the calendar year.

The Library pays 14% of each employee's salary to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) pension, and employees pay 10% to OPERS.

The Library also offers a voluntary retirement savings plan through the Ohio Deferred Compensation Program. This plan is offered in compliance with Internal Revenue Code Section 457.
